How Many Calories and Fat Grams Do You Need?
This formula will help you to calculate the number of calories and percentage of fat grams you need each day at your current weight if you are relatively inactive to moderately active.
moderately active person = a working person who doesn't do a great deal of exercise
relatively inactive person = a person with a sedentary lifestyle
if you're more than moderately active, calorie needs may have to be adjusted so that you don't lose weight
To maintain your current weight, follow this formula:
To determine the number of calories and fat grams you need to consume each day in order to lose or gain weight, consult your doctor or a registered dietitian.
Write your body weight in the equation that fits your activity level and gender. Then, multiply.
Moderately active male:_____ pounds x 15 calories = _____ total calories per day.
Moderately active female:____ pounds x 12 calories = _____ total calories per day.
Relatively inactive male:____ pounds x 13 calories = _____ total calories per day.
Relatively inactive female:____ pounds x 10 calories = _____ total calories per day.
Take total calories and multiply by 30 percent.____ calories per day x .30 = ____ calories from fat per day.
Take calories from fat per day and divide by 9 (there are 9 calories per gram of fat):____
calories from fat per day divided by 9 =____ fat grams per day.
Remember, saturated fats should account for only 10 percent of the total fat grams consumed.
First Week: Check!

I have had a good week. A great week, in fact. The week went fast after two days of training and many handshakes.
The preparation for the first week was an important key. I prepared accordingly, typical questions that passed my mind were: What will I wear? What questions will I ask? Who am I going to meet? Do I have my elevator speech ready? etc...
Besides all these questions I made a list of indispensable things I should take with me in my first day:
- Copy of my Resume
- Notepad and Pen
- List of names and phone numbers of people I meet through the interview process and hiring process
- Directions of different buildings of the company
- A brief description of my role and information about the company
- Any important document needed such as the hiring package
- List of questions about my role and the company
The training was very dynamic including group projects with the goal being to learn about the company and about our roles in Supply Chain.
I am very excited for what is to come, and I know I will gain tons of valuable experience. Plus, I have an amazing internship in the Global Team which means a lot of interaction with people from different parts of the world, which is something look forward to each day.
For instance, my first day at work (after the training) was all about meetings with different parts of the world. It was great! Also, I am learning about global market analysis and more.
Well, the first week is done and I can breathe a little, taking advantage of a long weekend (thanks to a holiday). Hopefully! In the midst of all of this preparation, I will be awaiting for my first individual project.
Until next time!

Sore throat remedies
Where I come from, we don't take medication unless you are close to death. Hence, home treatment is usually all that is needed for a sore throat caused by a virus. These tips may help you feel better.
- Gargle with warm salt water to help reduce swelling and relieve discomfort:
